The position

The Computational Biology Data Analyst supports projects by assembling high‑quality multi‑omics datasets for data scientists. This involves sourcing, processing, and quality‑checking data from clinical real‑world evidence enriched with outcomes and treatment details, as well as from preclinical model characterizations generated through various profiling and screening assays. To keep these datasets fit for purpose, the analyst maintains regular feedback loops with data consumers, continuously improving their usability and relevance.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Process and integrate multi‑omics datasets using established workflows, including associated domain‑specific metadata.
  • Ensure overall data quality, with particular attention to the completeness and accuracy of associated metadata.
  • Take data ownership by managing the lifecycle, accessibility and stewardship of assigned data assets.
  • Proactively engage with downstream users to ensure that data assets are optimized for maximum utility and usability.
  • Document analysis and data‑processing activities in knowledge‑management systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, information sciences, or another life science field, with at least 2 years of professional experience in an academic or industry setting.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong passion for data integrity and quality.
  • Proven experience in data processing and pipeline frameworks (e.g., Nextflow) within a high‑performance computing cluster or cloud environment.
  • Proficient scripting skills in at least one programming language, preferably R or Python.
  • Solid understanding of disease‑related biological processes, ideally with a focus on oncology (preferred).

The minimum gross annual salary for this position is € 57.600 per year (full-time) according to the classification in the collective bargaining agreement for the chemical industry. Depending on professional experience and qualifications, we offer an overpayment.
