IMBA - Institute of Molecular Biotechnology and IMP - Research Institute of Molecular Pathology are two of the leading biomedical research institutes in Europe, focusing on cutting-edge functional genomics, stem cell technologies, and molecular mechanisms underlying complex biological phenomena. Both institutes are located at the Vienna BioCenter, a vibrant cluster of universities, research institutes, and biotech companies in Austria. IMBA and IMP are basic research institutes of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the leading national sponsor of non-university academic research.
The Ethics & Biosafety group covers a broad range of ethics topics and provides support related to IMBA’s and IMP’s human and animal research ethics and biosafety compliance applications. Our aim is to continuously develop, implement, and monitor ethical standards in research and to promote awareness for upholding ethical standards and regulatory requirements in science.
